Late Saturday night I lost the first important man in my life. My dad Paul Ferry. We could never go anywhere without him knowing someone!! He fought a very courageous but short lived battle with cancer. I promised him I would be by his side every step of the way like he was for me growing up and I was with him until he took his last breath. He is now home with my brother Jason whom we all miss so very much!! What a reunion that was!!! Thank you dad for teaching me so many interesting things!! He didn’t raise some girlie girl!! He raised me to be strong and self sufficient. He taught me how to fish, camp, snowmobile, drive a boat, 4 wheel and target shoot. He taught me all about every piece of construction equipment as we often visited sights on Sunday’s. He taught me all about the stars and constellations, taking us to planetariums and we spent many a night in the fields in the back of the old pick up staring at the sky in awe. How to drive a stick! How to do my first 3 point turn in a 15 passenger van! That wet leaves are sometimes more slippery than ice! How to change spark plugs, belts, tires, fluids, how to jump start my old Topaz using pliers under the hood. Loved those days getting dirty working under the hood with dad as he taught me how to fix simple things myself. He taught me that hard work pays off. That generosity and blessing others is the way to go! That all the heat in your body escapes from your feet and head so for God sakes honey put a hat on your head!! Who cares if it messes up your hair! You will be warm!! He taught me to find the good in everyone it does exist. He snuck me on all the best roller coaster rides growing up when I was way too short promising to keep me safe and made me the adrenaline junkie I am today. Sorry mom!! He taught me all about old sports cars and racing at the speedway and we both had a love for driving FAST! Again sorry mom! I could go on and on. I LOVE YOU DAD!!!! I hope I have made you proud. You have certainly made me proud to call you my father!! Give Jason and everyone the biggest hug from me!!!
