Our History
Since our founding, the guiding principle of Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home Inc. has been the commitment to treating each family who comes to us as our own. This is why when choose to invite the families we serve into our home, it is with sincerity, pride, and dedication, we are committed to this time-honored tradition.
In 1963 Edward J. Cichon with his wife Helen opened the funeral home in the home of his uncle, Chester Flick. As time passed the funeral home was updated and expanded to accommodate the families of our community. After nearly forty years of serving the families of Depew and Lancaster the Cichon's decided it was time for a change, so in 2000 they entered semi retirement. Brian Borgosz and his family moved into the apartment above the funeral home and strived to continue the Cichon legacy. In 2005 the funeral home went through a modest remodel with the addition of an expanded porch, reconfiguration of the funeral home and a name change to Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home Inc. After continued support of the community it was realized that more space was needed. In the spring of 2011 an extensive remodel of the funeral home took place, adding new handicap access and expanded rooms allowing more comfort for the families we serve.
Our staff of highly-qualified and deeply caring individuals strive to assist you in continuing the funeral home’s mission of providing excellence in service to your families in their time of need.
