Susan Holland (nee Brodzik) PGA Professional - Life Member December 18, 1951 - October 9, 2023 Age 71, of Williamsville, NY. Susan Brodzik Holland of Williamsville, N.Y. - Loving daughter of the late Walter (Gladys Wieczorek) Brodzik. Loving sister of Julia(George) Gangloff, Theodore(Debbie), Edward, Marlene(Terry Thier) Davis, Jennifer, and the late Walter M. Also survived by Aunt Geraldine Killian, nephews, nieces, and cousins. Celebration of Life - Friday, July 5th, 2024 at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, 1 St. Mary's Hill Lancaster, NY at 9:30am. Susan (Brodzik) Holland was born into a golfing family. Her father and mother (Walter & Gladys Brodzik) opened the Walden Golf Driving Range as a family business on July 4th, 1960. She was a Graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Lancaster, NY (1969). Susan graduated from the University at Buffalo (1973), Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Education and was a member of the golf team at the University at Buffalo. She became one of the first women inducted into the UB Athletic Hall of Fame for her success as a golfer. She began her career as an LPGA Golf Professional in 1975 where she worked as a an assistant golf professional and instructor at Hogan Park Golf Course, Midland, Texas. In 1977, Susan became an assistant golf professional and golf instructor at the Midland Country Club as well as the Head Golf Coach of the Women’s Golf Team at Midland College. In 1982 her team captured the National Junior College Championship. Susan continued her golf career at Midland Country Club and attended PGA Business School II in 1989 and finished in the top 5% of her class. In May of 1990 she was elected to Membership in the Professional Golfers Association of America. She continued as a Golf Instructor at Midland Country Club, as well as working with Fore Brown in Golf Course Operations until returning home to Western New York in 2001. Upon returning to Western New York, Susan worked as a golf instructor at the Walden Golf Driving Range, the Paddock Golf Dome in Tonawanda and also was a program director for the Buffalo Inner City Youth Golf Program and became a Life Member of the PGA in 2015.
