Obituary of Gloria Giza
GIZA - Gloria Margaret Delores
(nee Smith)
Of Depew, age 86, died peacefully on
August 22, 2015 at Elderwood Skilled
Nursing in Hamburg. Gloria was the
daughter of the late Frederick and
Vera (Sugg) (Eisen) Smith. She was
born in Lancaster, NY on September
15, 1928. She married her best friend
and beloved husband, Stanley Giza,
in November of 1949. Mrs. Giza will
always be fondly remembered for her
love of people, puzzles, and piano.
She thoroughly enjoyed being with her
family and friends, telling great stories,
and laughing heartily. She was the best
Mom anyone could wish for, and will be
greatly missed by her daughters Deborah
Giza, Pamela (Brian Berrey) Giza,
Susan (John) Canna, and Laurie Giza.
She leaves an enduring legacy of three
grandsons, Collin and Nathan Flintjer,
and Jeff Giza-Martin. She was the loving
sister of Donald (Vivian) Smith,
Richard (Mildred) Smith, Vera (late
Richard) Maines, late Eugene (late
Catherine) Smith, Claudette (late Harvey)
Girard, Gail (late Norman) Yost,
late Gerald (Anna) Smith, Linda (Toby)
Myers and late Shirley (late Norman)
Riedel. Aunt and Great Aunt to numerous
nieces and nephews. Visitation in
the CiCHON-BORGOSz FuNERAL
HOME iNC., 4929 Broadway, Depew
Thursday 3-7 PM. Relatives and
friends are invited to a Mass of Christian
Burial in Blessed Mother Teresa
Parish at St. James Church, 496 Terrace
Blvd., Depew Friday at 9:30 AM.
Please assemble at Church. in the
twilight of her life, Gloria really became
a fan of bright, bold colors. Her family
would like anyone in attendance inclined
to wear something colorful in lieu
of black attire, to please feel free to do
so. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials
to Buffalo City Mission or Habitat
for Humanity.
