Obituary of Lena (nee Casimino) Pruski

Lena Casimino Pruski, 81, of Lancaster, NY, beloved wife of Gerald E. Pruski for 59 beautiful years, entered eternal rest surrounded by her family on July 5, 2022. Daughter of the late Vito and Lucy Casimino, Lena was born on April 25, 1941 in the Buffalo, NY area where she resided her entire life. While Lena had a career as a librarian at Lancaster Public Library, her focus and dedication was to her husband Jerry and raising her family. Lena is survived by her husband Gerald E. Pruski and her children, Lynda Pruski and Sharon (Dr. Vincent) Alvaro, to whom she was the most devoted wife and loving mother. She leaves behind her greatest treasures, her grandchildren Zackery (Jacqueline) Mundus, Olivia (Glenn) Usher, Dr. Jake (Holly) Alvaro, Andrew (Jessirah) Fenton, Luke Alvaro and Ross Alvaro; and great grandson Theophilus Alvaro. Also surviving Lena are her dear sister Marguerite (Carl) Benz, Joseph (Sandy) Casimino, late Isabelle (Lawrence) Highland, Leonard Casimino and several nieces and nephews. A beautiful and spirited soul, Lena had many cherished friends and warm memories. Her laughter was infectious, and she was never afraid to speak her mind or tell a good story. She was a confidante to those who valued her honesty, humor and integrity. Lena was an avid reader, baker and sports enthusiast. In retirement, she loved visiting her and Jerry’s ‘little slice of heaven’ in Ft. Lauderdale where they made long lasting friendships. She will be deeply missed and always remembered. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home, Inc., 4929 Broadway, Depew, NY. Burial will follow at St. Adalbert Cemetery on 6200 Broadway, Lancaster, NY. Lena’s family will receive family and friends for calling hours from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, July 11, 2022 at Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home, Inc., 4929 Broadway, Depew, NY.
