I was shocked to hear about Laurie, having known her to be so lively and full of laughter. I had the privilege of becoming friends and living around the corner from Laurie at UB. I believe I first met Laurie in 1987 after she'd arrived on the back of some guy's motorcycle (her father!). My sympathies to those family Laurie is survived by. Over the years, Laurie and I had continued to enjoy conversations about everything from work travails, classic movies, our family histories to music and more. She even visited me in Northern NY once and I recall a stop or two at her house way back when. I'll remember her dearly and wish her family well as they cope with their loss.
