(nee Czarnocki); loving father of Lisa Marie (Robert) Nemmer, late Michael III, loving father of Christopher A. (Margaret) loving grandfather of Stephanie Nemmer and Quentin Zimmer (Miranda); brother of the late Margaret M. Carney (late Tom); son of the late Hon. Michael E. and Victoria Zimmer; brother-in-law of the late Virginia and late Robert Sturm; 1957 graduate of St. John Kanty Prep School (Erie, PA.). Michael cherished the lifelong fraternity he shared with fellow classmates.  Michael then went onto Canisius College, and graduated with the class of 1962 Michael was a 62 year parishioner of St. Mary of the Assumption, Lancaster, NY serving in CCD, past president of Parish Council, Lector-Commentator, Eucharistic Minister, Lamb of God prayer group, St Vincent dePaul; team partner of Marriage Encounter, Cursillo, Kairos; Knights of Columbus 3 rd °. Former emergency medical technician and life member of the Lancaster Volunteer Ambulance Corps., past president of the Buffalo Claims Association.; Thirty-five year friend of Bill W., Mike walked a path of sobriety finding strength in the fellowship of those sharing the same journey, while mentoring, guiding and inspiring others to join him. Friends are invited to a Mass Celebrating Life at Our Lady of Victory Basilica, Lackawanna, N.Y. Saturday May 16, 2026 at 10:30 A.M.
