Richard Gleason, born September 15, 1944, in Queens, New York, and a longtime resident of Buffalo, New York, passed away on March 31, 2026, at the age of 81. Husband of Andrea (nee Putnam), with whom he shared 59 years of marriage. Son of the late George and Evelyn (nee Moehringer) Gleason. Father of Terry (Mary Lou), Colin, Deborah Barden (Bob), Mary, and the late Greg Gleason. Grandfather of seven grandsons. Richard was a graduate of Niagara University and served as a Captain in the United States Army, including service in Europe. He was a member of the People of Praise Christian community and St. Teresa of Avila Church. He had an avid interest in music trivia and, together with his wife, hosted music trivia contests at nursing homes and rehabilitation centers. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10am, Monday May 11th, 2026, at St. Teresa of Avila Church in Akron, NY. Richard will be remembered by his family and friends.
