Ronald J. Smith of Lancaster, NY passed away on March 9, 2026. Born in Buffalo, NY, he was the beloved son of the late Irene (nee Gorski) and Ralph Smith.

Ron, known to many as Ronny, was a man whose life was centered around the people he loved. He was the kind of person who would show up whenever someone needed him—family, friends, or neighbors. His loyalty, kindness, and quiet strength made him someone others could count on.

On November 14, 1980, Ron married Kathy (nee Gersitz), at St. James Church in Depew. Together they built a life grounded in love, partnership, and family. Ron was a loving husband and a proud father, but the role he cherished most was being “Grandpa.” His grandchildren meant everything to him, and he treasured every moment he spent with them. Whether it was sharing laughs, telling stories, or simply being together, those moments brought him his greatest happiness.

Ron was the husband of Kathy (nee Gersitz) Smith; loving father of Samuel (Katie) Smith and Amanda (Phil) Massino; proud grandpa of Aria, Avery, and Georgiana; dear brother of Ralph (Lily) Smith and Ricky (Denise) Smith.

Ron will be remembered as a loving husband, a proud dad, a devoted grandpa, and a loyal friend. His kindness, generosity, and the love he had for his family and friends will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
