Lawrence F. “Larry” Borgosz passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, surrounded by the love he spent his lifetime giving to others. He was 73.
Born on January 30, 1953, in Buffalo, New York, to the late Loretta (nee Pijanowski) and Frank Borgosz, Larry grew up with the strong values of family, loyalty, and hard work that would define his life. On November 4, 1972, he married his best friend and the love of his life, Sandra L. Becker, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Depew, NY. For over five decades, Larry and Sandee built a marriage rooted in devotion, laughter, and unwavering support.
Larry was a proud and devoted father to Shawn (Chelyse) Borgosz. His greatest joy, however, was being “Grandpa.” He adored Breanna (James) Donnelly and Brendan (Marissa) Borgosz, and nothing lit up his face more than talking about his great-grandsons, Samuel and Baby Donnelly. His family was his world, and he made sure each of them knew how deeply they were loved.
He is survived by his loving sisters Diane (Mike) Fray and Marcia (Bruce) Schnieder, and was predeceased by his sister Linda Roberts. Larry also shared close bonds with his brothers- and sisters-in-law: Debi (Dale) Weber, Richard (Seanne) Becker, Greg (Jeannette) Becker, and the late Sam (Lori) Becker and late Gary (Donna) Becker. He was a special uncle to Geoffrey, Jonathan, Aaron, and Nathan, and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews who will forever remember his welcoming smile and easy conversation.
Larry dedicated 45 years of his life to I Squared Element Co., Inc., retiring as a Production Foreman. He took pride in his work and in providing for his family, earning the respect of coworkers who appreciated his steady leadership and fairness.
Outside of work, Larry embraced life with enthusiasm. Whether he was fishing at dawn, hunting in the quiet of the woods, or golfing with friends, he found peace in the outdoors. He was a loyal and passionate fan of the New York Yankees, Buffalo Bills, and Buffalo Sabres — celebrating victories and enduring losses with equal dedication. He loved movies, but some of the best memories were made around the table playing board games with his family, laughing late into the evening.
Larry never met a stranger. He genuinely loved meeting new people and could strike up a conversation anywhere. His heart was always wide open. He was a natural peacemaker — the steady voice in the room, the one who brought people together. His kindness, patience, and gentle strength made others feel heard and valued.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation Celebrating Larry’s Life at Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home, Inc., 4929 Broadway, Depew, NY, on Saturday, March 7, 2026, from 12–3 PM. Flowers are gratefully declined.
Larry’s legacy is one of love, unity, and a life well lived. His presence was a gift, and his memory will remain a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to know him.
