Robert Loniewski

Obituary of Robert G. Loniewski

Born October 17, 1960, in Poland to the late Kathleen (née Miszkiewicz) and the late Janek Loniewski, Robert entered in his Eternal Reward on December 2, 2025.

Of Lancaster, NY Rob was a devoted family man whose life was shaped by love, learning, and service. He married the love of his life, Susan Wellner, on October 12, 1991, at St. Francis Xavier Church in Buffalo, whom he first met on a blind date.

Rob was a proud graduate of the University at Buffalo, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Economics. He went on to serve as an Investigator for the United States Department of Labor in Buffalo, where his professionalism, dedication, and integrity were deeply respected.

Beyond his professional life, Robert was a man rich in quiet passions, an avid chess player, Rob enjoyed the strategy and quiet focus the game offered.  He found comfort and nostalgia in retro television shows and classic movies, but nothing brought him more joy than time spent with his family.

Rob is the beloved husband of Susan; the devoted father of Christina (Jamie) Cassata, Robert D. Loniewski, Marissa (Cass) Loniewski, Victoria Loniewski, and Catherine Loniewski; and the dear brother of Katarzyna (Burkhard) Wilking and Grzegorz Loniewski.
