Obituary of Robert F. Ganz Jr.

Robert F. “Bob” Ganz Jr., of Lancaster, NY, passed away on November 18, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family. Born on September 16, 1938, in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Bob was the first child of Florence (née Wilczynski) and Robert F. Ganz Sr. From the beginning, he carried with him the quiet strength, work ethic, and steady heart that would shape the rest of his life.

On January 26, 1963, Bob married Mary Alice Pribula, the love of his life and his partner in all things. Their marriage, built on mutual respect, patience, humor, and deep devotion, spanned more than six decades. Together they created a life full of purpose—raising their son, building a business, and facing every joy and challenge side by side.

Bob was a lifelong printer, a trade he took pride in and perfected over many years. He and Mary Alice owned and operated Maple City Printing in Hornell for 25 years, pouring their time, energy, and hearts into the work they did together. After retiring from the business, Bob wasn’t one to sit still; he and Mary Alice later moved to Buffalo to help their son at 3G Signs, continuing the family tradition of craftsmanship and dedication.

Bob had a gift for making connections and finding community wherever he was. He enjoyed his time with the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2692, the Depew Lancaster Moose Lodge #1605, the Depew Polish Falcons Club, and the Knights of Columbus Father John Schaus Council #4652. The friendships he made through these organizations meant a great deal to him.

Above all, Bob was a family man. He is survived by his wife, Mary Alice, who was truly his companion in every phase of life; his son, Robert F. (Jennifer) Ganz III; and his beloved granddaughter, Alexis, who brought him immeasurable joy and pride. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Bob was predeceased by his parents and by his brother, David Ganz.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services. Bob never wanted a fuss—he simply hoped to be remembered fondly by the people he cared for.

Bob will be remembered for his steady dedication to his family, his craft, and his community, and for the quiet strength and kindness he shared with all who knew him.
