Obituary of Beatrice S. (nee Helak) Brownschidle

Beatrice S. Brownschidle, a lifelong and beloved resident of Depew, passed away peacefully on
October 24, 2025. She was born on July 21, 1933, in Depew, NY, to the late Martha (née
Marchlewski) and Anthony Helak.

Beatrice shared a loving marriage with the late Robert E. Brownschidle, who passed away in
2019. They were united in marriage on July 17, 1954, at St. Luke’s Church in Buffalo, creating a
life filled with family, friendship, and faith.

She was a devoted mother to Lisa Brownschidle (Martin Gadsby) and Robert (Tabatha)
Brownschidle, proud grandmother to Robert James “Robbie” Brownschidle and Katie (Andrew)
Absher and great grandmother to Cash and Cormac Absher. Beatrice was also a cherished sister to Virginia (Daniel) Vohwinkel. Her family was the center of her world, and her warmth and
kindness touched all who knew her.

Beatrice enjoyed a long and successful career in banking with J.P. Morgan Chase Bank in
Depew. She was a former member of the Cheektowaga and Depew Senior Citizens and
dedicated to her faith as a longtime active member of the former SS. Peter and Paul Church in
Depew.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life during visitation on Thursday, October 30,
2025, from 3–6 PM at Cichon-Borgosz Funeral Home, Inc., 4929 Broadway, Depew, NY. A
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 31, 2025, at 10 AM at Our Lady
of Pompeii Campus of St. Mary of the Assumption Parish, 158 Laverack Avenue, Lancaster, NY
14086. Guests are asked to assemble directly at the Church.

Beatrice will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Robert, in St. Augustine Cemetery,
Lancaster, NY. Her family is kindly declining flowers ; her love and memory will remain in the
hearts of all who knew her.
