Obituary of Karen F. (nee North) Leister

On October 12, 2025, Karen was called home to the Lord and joyfully reunited with her loving husband Dennis, in eternal peace. Growing up as one of five, Karen cherished family more than anything in the world. She is survived by her three beloved daughters: Sharon (John) Reichert, Dawn (Jim) Darcy, and Michelle (Rick) Becker-Groh.

She was a devoted and proud grandmother to Krystel (Mike) Murtha, Fallyn (Kyle) Cavalieri, Kevin (Jasmine) Reichert, Aaron (Sydney) Reichert, Jason (Christine) Darcy, Lindsay (Dustin) Darcy, Alexis (Jared) Neal, and Mitchell (Peighton) Neal — and an adored “GG” to 18 great-grandchildren.

Karen was also a loving mom to five cats who brought her endless joy and companionship until the very end. She was surrounded throughout her life by family and friends who deeply loved her, and she held a special fondness for her neighbors, Courtney and Matt, who became like family.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18th, at Saint Matthias Episcopal Church, 374 Main Street, East Aurora. All are welcome to join us for refreshments and to share their love and memories of Karen immediately following the service, downstairs in the church.
