Obituary of Joan D. (nee Beiter) Wysocki
Age 90, of Akron, NY. Joan graduated from Sister's of Charity Nursing school in 1956 and began her career working for the hospital. After taking time off to raise her family, she devoted the remainder of her nursing career to the care of the elderly, first at St. Elizabeth's Home in Lancaster and then at The Brother's of Mercy in Clarence from where she retired. She and her late husband also once owned Fred's Country Inn in Clarence. Joan was a member of the Akron Senior Center and The Cloisters in Akron where she resided and organized their Tuesday Bingo for many years. She loved to play cards, do puzzles and was always up for a casino trip to play the slots. Joan never met anyone she wasn't willing to help and that she didn't consider a friend. She is survived by her children Susan (Michael) Kinson, Terrence, Laura (William) Miner, Jo Anne Wysocki and Janet (Richard) Freer; 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Frederick, daughter Dawn, son Thomas, grandson Jacob, great grandson Quinn, sisters Dolores (late Norman) Wolf, Jean (late Elmer) Ottney and brother Norbert (late Alice) Beiter. A special thank you to Diana and Heather for their compassionate care of Joan.
