Obituary of Alexandra (nee Frankiewich) Krafchak
Of Lancaster, March 7, 2025, beloved wife of the late Edward “Ed” Krafchak; Devoted mother of the late Alexis (late C. Marcus) Wise, Stephanie, Christopher; loving grandmother of Julian, Alexander, Anastasia and Morgan; dear sister of the late Walter, Frank, Chester, and Alexander.
Alexandra passed away peacefully at the age of 95. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to family.
Born in Lancaster on the day the Stock Market crashed - a fact she would always mention - Alexandra lived a life committed to family and learning. She earned a degree in Communications from Stephen’s College in Columbia, Missouri, not a small feat for a woman in the early 1950’s. She always considered higher education to be the foundation for a successful, meaningful life and instilled that in her children. She was a contestant in the Miss New York Pageant and was a dance instructor for Arthur Murray Dance Studios where she met Ed who was taking lessons to help recuperate from combat wounds suffered during WWII. Throughout her life she was a caregiver—always putting the needs of her loved ones before her own. She selflessly cared for family members in times of illness, offering comfort and support with compassion.
Above all, she was devoted to her children who she raised with caring and instilled a deeply held responsibility to uphold democratic values. Her wisdom shaped not only her family but all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Alexandra will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to those she loved. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and many cherished family members and friends. Though she has left this world, her love and lessons will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation with family in the Cichon- Borgosz Funeral Home in Depew will be on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon with a Catholic Funeral Service held immediately following Visitation.
