All the Mangold family was so sorry to hear of Dave's passing. We are grateful to Pat for letting us know via a lovely note as we now live in Philadelphia. Dave and Pat hold a special place in our family history. When we could not fit athletic shoes for our son with wide feet, we visited Dave's shoe ship about 30 years ago. That began a 30 year relationship of expertise, care and true affection. He and Pat fitted all three of our children, and me for my running shoes, for as long as we lived in WNY. He always had a million stories and they treated us like family. We are so privileged to have known him and cherish our fun, warm memories. He was so proud of his family and lives on in all of you. Dear Pat and Family: We are so sorry to find out about Dave’s passing. We are still in shock, thought he’d live to 90+, but God had different plans. He was like a second dad to Rick after his own dad’s passing. Dave was a special person full of wisdom and when you needed advice he was always there to help. We will always remember our chats, laughter and joking around at Tim Horton’s. I especially loved when I got him out to golf nine holes at Aduboun Golf Course. He always had a smile and a great sense of humor. We will miss you immensely but your memories will be eternal. Rest in Peace our Dear friend. In our thoughts and prayers. Soar with the eagles. My heart sank when I learned of Mr. Costello's passing. He was our neighbor for over 30 years and was an important part of my childhood. He is now with his beloved parents and best pal, Bo, in eternal peace. I hope all of your beautiful memories comfort you at this difficult time.
